UNU-ViE Administrative Intern
United Nations University Vice Rectorate in Europe (UNU-ViE): UNU-ViE concentrates on relationships between advancing science and technology for human security. In addition to its scientific core mandate, it administers the central units providing service to five UNU entities in Bonn. The central administration units include Finance, Human Resources, Information Communication Technology, Communication Services, Procurement and General Administration. These units also assist with the administration of new UNU initiatives in Europe and Africa.
Administration and Finance Unit / HR and Operations Focal Point
UNU-ViE offers central services for all UNU in Bonn entities: UNU-ViE, the UNU – Institute for Environment and Security (UNU-EHS), the Secretariat of the International Human Dimensions Programme on Global Environmental Change (UNU-IHDP) and the UN-Water Decade Programme on Capicity Development (UNW-DPC)
Asset Management: (approximately 80% of work time):
Study and review existing UNU rules and guidelines on property management and inventory control,
Understand UN terminologies on asset definitions as well as procedures and process when it comes to acquisition of asset items, adjustments and disposal of items,
Perform physical inventory of asset items for the UNU Bonn office, this include verification of asset data, asset location and status.
Other Administrative Tasks: (approximately 20% of work time):
Assist with various HR tasks such as coordinating interviews, and new comers to UNU,
Management of office space, inventory control.
